Impressions of the Blogger assingment:

I think that this assingment was overall very good for several reasons. One of the most important of these reasons was that if we were absent we could learn what we missed. Another was hat many of us practiced writing in English and giving a summary of what we did in class. It also helped us to study for tests. However there were many negatives to this assingment. When you wanted to put photos in your scribe post, you had very little freedom to do what you want, meaning that blogger doesn't allow much freedom in posting. Another was that the comments were pretty much all the same, and weren't too helpful. In conclusion: i didn't really like this assingment, but i do think it is helpful for those absent or wanting to recap what happend last class.

Doing Blogger for three quarters in a row was very helpful. I think that this project help many of the 8th grade students becasue if someone was absent, they could go to Blogger and see what they missed during science. I liked doing Blogger becuase it was very simple and fun to work with. I liked writing posts on Blogger becuase it was very fun and I enjoyed it. The thing that I thought was hard on Blogger was putting pictures becuase sometimes the picture did not appear for me. Also, the thing that was very annoying for me on Blogger was that some of the tools for writing posts were very complicated, but all in all, I enjoyed Blogger. I think that this was a helpful use of technology for our class because any student absent could see what he/she missed during school. I hope that this project will continue next year!

During the past semester that we've been using blogger for science, I have had many positive and negative views of it; many difficulties and highlights; and most of all, many days when my grades depended on it. Blogger was of exponential use when somebody was absent from school, didn't quite catch what the day's homework was, or needed to review for a test. Additionally, if somebody needed more information or a better understanding of something, a couple of videos that my fellow peers posted up really shone out and explained in ways of a completely different dimension. Blogger was also great in the fact that it let us post picture, videos, change backgrounds and font colors to make our posts more visually enchanting for students our age. As time went on over the course of the past two science quarters, blogging got more and more simple to use and I felt as if the majority of my class used it to save them from getting zeros for things they didn't quite catch in class. However, Blogger did have it's negative attributes. Firstly, when you posted a comment to a 6th or 7th grade blog, the computer made you verify to see if you were human, and if you didn't type anything in, it would not post up your comment. Another negative attribute was that Blogger at times erased your blogs for no apparent reason, which was a huge waste of time. Final summation: Blogger, though it is at times risky and unpredictable, is a miracle when it comes to late night homework sessions, and times when Science just gets confusing.

Over the course of the last two quarters of science, blogger was of good use. It allowed the students that were absent to catch up on what had been noted in class and gave them a better insight or understanding to what had been reviewed. Blogger gives us the opportunity to be more creative with our works including pictures, color schemes, and attractive layouts. Blogger also gave us permission to use posts for future tests or quizzes as its posts are mainly general recaps of a science class and can be used as a great studying tool. Although blogger was, to a large extent, of good perspective, it did take hold of some negative features. One included erasing the data you posted on blog and having to take zero because it didn't publish. Another feature that had primarily bothered me was that as I was concluding my comment on a blog post, blogger automatically erased the paragraph I had written taking another portion of time from my lunch. Lastly, I didn't enjoy commenting on the 7th and 6th grade blogs as I had to wait for a verification giving me doubts about if my comment was going to post to their blogs. Otherwise, I did enjoy taking part in blogger and thought it was of great help to all students.

My impressions about Blogger
My impressions about Blogger are mostly positive. I think the idea of introducing Blogger in our student’s daily life is good. Blogger is a great way for people who are sick to know what happened in class. It also helps clarifies some things you couldn’t understand in class. It is also a way to learn. I also like the fact that Blogger’s interface is easier and nicer than the one in Moddle. Blogger is also like a general base of everything we covered in Science, it is here if you want to print some courses you lost a long time ago. For the negative effect one of them is that Blogger can sometimes don’t save what you wrote in comment which makes it pretty annoying. But in overall all the comments arrive safely to Ms. D. An other negative things about Blogger is the picture manager which is very frustrating, you can’t do everything by yourself, you have to use some standard created by Blogger which decrease the liberty that you want to put in your post.

Looking back, the blogging was actually quite helpful to people who were sick and just generally for getting a grasp into the world of blogging. No matter how complicated and frustrating Blogger gets at times I think everyone should be exposed to this form of sharing work. For me, it helped a lot when I was sick or on CEESA trips because I could just go look on blogger and find out what we did in class. However, Blogger does not only have positives. This quarter I had to use a different computer at home and this computer always signed me out of blogger when I clicked “view blog”. As a result, I had to post almost every blog comment and scribe post at school in the mornings as it was impossible to post from the other computer.

Other than that blogging went quite smoothly over the course of the 4^th quarter; especially now that we know what we actually have to do. One last thought is that this blog will be extremely helpful when we want to study for our science final, because it roughly outlines what we did,provides information and an general overview. All in all, blogging went smoothly with a few faults here and there.

Overall, I enjoyed using Blogger in this and previous quarters. It made my life easier by checking whether there is any homework assigned when I skipped school. In my opinion, next year, we should use Blogger instead of Moodle because it can be helpful for students who skipped school to find out what did the class do on the day the student skipped school. However, I also noticed some disadvantages about Blogger, such as it is not so easy to put pictures where you want them to be in your post, which I found very frustrating when I did my scribe post. Overall, I enjoyed using Blogger throughout the 2nd semester.

I thought that this 3 quarter blogging project was a good idea. Students are able to look on here when confused, and hopefully will have things cleared up after doing so. I know that I found this helpful previously, and am finding it helpful now when studying for our final exam. I didn't like how there seemed to be quite some amount of technical difficulties when posting things on Blogger. I think it was nice that everyone had to do a scribe post each time, so each person only had to post once for that quarter. Most things about Blogger were pretty easy to use. There were 2 things that I didn't like as much was how difficult it could be to upload pictures, and not being able to copy and paste things.

Reflection Post - Severyn

As I stated in my previous Reflection Post, Blogger is a great website that helped me and others during the school year. First of all, I didnt had to visit Moodle, which takes a long time to log in - I've just visited Blogger and there it was, my homework.
Other good thing about Blogger is that it is very easy to use. That's probably the fact makes me like it. You just enter the address in the URL box and that's it. I had fun working with Blogger and I think that my teacher, Ms. D should do the same Blogger project with next grades. Severyn :)

Ireally enjoyed Blogger because it has many languages, and it sort of plays the role of Moodle, because you can check the notifications about homework that the scribes have posted, plus I enjoy the tools on the main screen of Blogger. Also, I think is is easy in some cases because of the minor comments you have to do. But the only challenges I faced were typing major comments and a scribe post. It was hard for me to do the scribe post because I didn't really remember all of the events that happened on a day a had to scribe about. The challenge about major comment was the format. First I thought it had to be just suggestions about a particular post, but in actuallity, it has to be positive comments and suggestions about the post. However, overall, I enjoyed using Blogger.

There are many positives and few negatives that come up in connection with the website Blogger. Personally I think it is a great resource for people who did not understand what was happening in class or were sick. As I was sick quite often I found it extremely helpful to go onto the 8^th grade blog and find out, to the nearest detail, what happened and what I missed. Another positive to using blogger is that the layout is quite easy to comprehend although writing a scribe post is a completely different subject. Writing scribe posts are one of the few negatives of Blogger. For me it was quite complicated and hard to understand where to put URL’s, pictures, and text. However, with time it gets more understandable. Another negative for me was that I had to help multiple people with their scribe post to find the place at which they could actually post it. Many could not find that place and so I had to instruct them how to get there (since I did my scribe post quite early on). All in all, I believe it is VERY helpful in helping people catch up on what happened in class, the homework and anything else that was discussed. However, there are a few confusing parts to Blogger which make it difficult to comprehend at times with the layout and such. As a summary, it has its ups and downs but it was a great experience and I’m sure it will be in the future!

I liked having this blog to look at anything I didn't understand in class. People posted links, pictures and repeated everything we learned in class, which I thought was helpful to anybody who was absent, as well as the entire class, because when we have quizzes, tests, and our final exam at the end of the year, this will be a good place to look to when studying for them.
I enjoyed reading other people's comments, as it was exciting to take part in a blog for the first time and to have students commenting on your post. I didn't like having to write out the whole post and taking notes in class, wasn't too fun either.But I think this is a good idea, and an easy resource to look to whenever you were absent, didn't understand something, or wanted to clear something out about an assignment given that day.

Severyn's Reflection Post

A lot of people have different opinions about Blogger. My opinion is that it is an outstanding aid for anyone who is either confused or who was absent in our Science 8 class. The main fact that supports my opinion is it's simplicity. It's that simple that even a kid can use it (I'm not saying that I'm not a kid :). Although it's that simple, it can get as complicated too. While writing a scribe post for 3rd quarter, I faced a very annoying technical difficulty - Blogger wouldn't upload my picture, that really influenced the question of my grade. Unfortunately, it was not uploaded... Another function that proves my opinion is the interface language possibility. There are more than 40 languages are available in Blogger! So, I conclude, that Blogger is a great advisor for everyone, especially the ones that were absent.

Well this was my first blogging experience. It is definitely a good way to share things to others around the world. It’s pretty simple to use and understand. I will admit, in the beginning it was a bit hard because Blogger was set to the Croatian language, so it was hard for me to understand it. Thankfully I found out how to change the language, so that made it easier. Another challenge was getting the pictures into a blog post. For some people it worked fine, for others it did not. But even though the pictures did not cooperate so well for me, writing the actual post and making comments was easy and worked fine. This blog is something that will be helpful when a class mate is sick and missed work. Blogger also allows us to see what the other Middle School grades are learning in Science. I think that at first blogger was a bit of a weird thing for us 8^th graders, but now we are more comfortable with it and I think that we enjoy reading what our peers have to say about our Science class. It is also interesting to see what other people/ students think about the Science we do. Overall Blogger seems to fine and even though some of us had difficulties, we now understand it.

Was blogger a useful thing to introduce to us? Well the answer is simple, yes because of multiple reasons. One such reason is, it gives the people who were sick an opportunity to see what we have done in class. Another great advantage to it is that if we have a quiz about a certain topic we can take advantage of blogger because it contains reliable resource to study from that was mentioned in class. Although blogger has a few down sides the positive sides takes over. Blogger has made science class much easier and funner to enjoy.

I liked blogger because of one big important reason, reviewing what was mentioned in class. If i didn't write some notes in my notebook I could always do it using blogger, or if there would be a up coming quiz I would once again use blogger. Although I disliked blogger in the beginning because I wasn't sure what to write and how much pictures to put, however after looking at my classmates I got the idea. I think blogger is a easy, open source program that should be used in most classes to help the students.

I think that using blogger for this class was very helpful because it allowed students to catch up on the work that they missed and it was also very helpful to summarize what we did in class. If a student was absent or confused during class, blogger would give enough information to the student that the student would know what was covered during class. The things I disliked about blogger was that whenever you wanted to put a picture, it vanished. Apart from that, I enjoyed blogger a lot.
Blogger was very easy and fun for me. I thought that writing the scribe post was very easy because Blogger is very easy to understand and it is very fun. Blogger was also easy for me because it was not hard to understand how to use it. I do not think that blogger was difficult at all. I understood it fully and it was a very fun website to work with.

What I found enjoyable about 3rd quarter blogging was that it was a reliable source to those away and allowed them to go over what the class reviewed while absent. Also, it was not a dull sort of activity, rather, it gave us a chance to use color and pictures for a better, more attractive appearance. The format and structure of the blog, in my opinion, was appropriate as it was efficient, tidy, and easy to note. I also thought a good recap of the day was quite insightful and made it easier to understand. One of my least favorite things about the blog was properly formatting it. Each time I tried to put a picture up, it would disappear. Once published, my scribe post would leave too many spaces and separate words and paragraphs from others, becoming slightly irritating. Moreover, I was not fond of how the fonts were scrambled. When choosing small font, I received large font on the "preview" and my published post making it rather confusing and causing me to re-edit my post.
